Arsenal's 26/27 away shirt is out today, and adidas built it by flipping the Bruised Banana.

The zigzag graphic from the 1991-93 original carries over intact. The palette does not. Navy takes the base where yellow used to sit, and the yellow now runs through the pattern. Red and yellow trim edge a crew-neck collar, the Trefoil sits across from the cannon, and navy shorts and navy socks with yellow trim complete the strip.

adidas last revived this shirt in 2019, close enough to a straight reissue that the two are hard to tell apart in photos. The pattern has turned up on training gear and lifestyle pieces since. Navy makes this one a shirt rather than a reference. Arsenal defend a league title in it starting next month, so it builds its own history instead of borrowing 1991's.

That matters more here than it does in North London. Arsenal's North American support did not grow up at Highbury. It grew up on grainy Ian Wright clips and resale listings where an original Bruised Banana clears three figures before shipping. Navy is the version you can buy at retail, and the one that pairs well with a pair of Sambas on a Saturday in Atlanta or Toronto.
