[Nike](https://fortyonemag.com/tag/nike/?ref=fortyonemag.com) and [Travis Scott](https://fortyonemag.com/tag/travis-scott/?ref=fortyonemag.com) brought the chaos and culture of street football to Coachella, and Forty-One was right there in the thick of it.

Our team—Gabe Nava and Alex Bronowicki—headed out to Indio to capture the energy of **[Mad Maximus](https://fortyonemag.com/tag/mad-maximus/?ref=fortyonemag.com)**, a first-of-its-kind 1v1 tournament that turned the desert into a football battleground. Hosted at an offsite compound just outside the festival grounds, the event blended post-apocalyptic visuals, raw competition, and heavy cultural weight in a way only Nike and La Flame could deliver.

Set against the backdrop of rusted shipping containers, spotlights, and smoke, **Mad Maximus** wasn’t your average pickup run. This was **1v1 football meets fight night**, with players battling in a caged pitch surrounded by a roaring crowd of creators, artists, and footy heads. The vibe? Think *Thunderdome*, but with Tekkers.

The tournament brought out some of the best 1v1 players from across the globe. Players like Ethan Brooks, Jordyn Gonzalez, and Italo Souza repped the game with style, grit, and creativity, showcasing how far the culture of street football has come—and where it’s headed next.

Mad Maximus wasn’t just a side show to Coachella—it was a cultural checkpoint. A reminder that football isn’t confined to stadiums. It lives in the streets, in style, in energy. And when brands like Nike and voices like Travis Scott invest in its rawest form, it only adds more fuel to La Flame.

We were proud to be invited to document the future of footy in real time. From the cage battles to the fit checks, the drop reveals, to the desert vibes—it was all part of a larger movement to push the game forward.

This is the kind of moment we live for. Where soccer meets culture and leaves a mark.
